SpikeSmart and a14ylabs.com are operated by A14Y Labs LLC, a company based in Mercer Island, Washington, USA. By using SpikeSmart or this website, you agree to these terms with A14Y Labs LLC. If you do not agree, do not use the app or website.
Generated food icons
Creating or regenerating a food icon requires an internet connection. The app authenticates automatically using Apple App Attest; Apple sign-in and Optional Backup are not required. SpikeSmart sends the explicit icon description to OpenAI to provide this feature. Icons are illustrations and can vary between generations. Generation may be delayed, limited or unavailable; your meal is saved immediately and remains available with its previous icon or a standard emoji.

SpikeSmart provides tools for reviewing glucose and activity patterns and planning personal goals. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, emergency monitoring, or guaranteed outcomes. Do not change medication, insulin, diet, exercise, or treatment based only on information from SpikeSmart. Consult a qualified healthcare professional about health decisions.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter, for maintaining access to your device and Apple Account, and for using the app in accordance with applicable law. Do not misuse the app, attempt to interfere with its operation, or use it to harm another person.
Local use and optional backup
A SpikeSmart account is optional. Core app data is stored locally, and signed-out and offline use does not depend on the backup service. Optional Backup is off by default. In current TestFlight builds with backup enabled, enrollment is automatic after you enable Back up my data and complete Sign in with Apple. No manual approval or enrollment ID is required for these builds. Builds without backup enabled remain local-only. If you choose to enable backup, you authorize SpikeSmart to store the labels, custom images, keyed pseudonymous event identifiers, encrypted event locators, synchronization metadata, and the bounded set of encrypted Apple account-lifecycle credentials described in the Privacy Policy. SpikeSmart does not request your name or email from Apple. Do not use backup for unlawful content or content you do not have the right to store.
The default-off Back up my data choice also covers meals, explicit predictions, original food images, reusable foods, recorded Quest activation, manual days and acknowledgements, goals, workflow dates and notification preferences. Food history, Quest, library and settings contents are encrypted on your devices; A14Y Labs LLC does not receive those encryption keys. Compatible label backup also sends labels and processed custom images that A14Y Labs LLC and its infrastructure provider can process. Raw Apple Health samples, glucose and activity calculations, automatic Quest progress, permissions and onboarding completion are excluded. Restored settings require your review and confirmation. Turning backup off stops synchronization and retains the saved account link and remote backup; it does not request remote deletion.
For an enabled backup account, backup is a convenience and may be paused, delayed, or unavailable during the staged rollout. You are responsible for maintaining access to your device and Apple Account and for keeping any information you cannot afford to lose. Disconnecting backup revokes only the app’s refresh-token family on that device; it does not delete the remote account, remote data, or Apple authorization. Delete Remote Account starts durable, retryable revocation and deletion while preserving your local copy, including while non-destructive backup writes are paused. A verified Apple notification that you revoked consent or requested deletion of your Apple Account can also stop sessions and start deletion of the remote backup. If every stored Apple credential is proven absent or unrecoverable after the recovery window, remote deletion can complete with persistent guidance that you still need to remove SpikeSmart manually in your Apple Account’s Sign in with Apple settings.
Availability and changes
SpikeSmart and optional backup may change as they develop. Features may be modified, suspended, or discontinued, and beta features may contain errors. Apple services, Apple Health, iCloud, Sign in with Apple, Cloudflare, network access, and device permissions may also affect availability. We may update these terms by posting a revised version with a new effective date.
No warranty
To the extent permitted by law, SpikeSmart and this website are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited.
